I’ve been meaning to try out homemade almond milk ever since my bf’s lovely Mum bought me a nut milk bag (thanks Toni!).
I finally made the time to test it out and was pretty happy with the results.
It’s dead easy- you’ve just got to soak the nuts overnight in water first.
1 cup of almonds (measure before soaking)
3 cups of water (add more water if you prefer a thinner milk)
Pinch of salt
Add the water, dates, almonds and salt to a blender and blend until smooth.
Pour into a nut milk bag (over a bowl) and squeeze the liquid out.
Continue to apply pressure to the mix until as much liquid as possible has been drained.
Your almond milk is now ready!
n.b. if you don’t want to waste the almond mix then you can stick it in the oven on a low heat for a few hours to allow it to dry out then use it as almond flour.
